We’re really looking forward to next month’s E3 Expo, especially with the PlayStation Move, Project Natal and Nintendo 3DS still firmly in our minds. But aside from those devices, a rumor has just sprung up suggesting that details on the next iteration of Sony’s PlayStation Portable (PSP) might appear at E3, and that would really be interesting. Let’s not forget that the PSP has already been on the market for a good six years, and aside from the PSPgo, there hasn’t been any major change to the portable console (aside from a few revisions). What do you think the next PSP will look like, and are you keen on Sony releasing a PSP2 (whatever it may be called), or would you prefer a Nintendo 3DS?

Wow, Microsoft has been on a roll lately. First the company unveiled

It seems like after several long years, the PSP is finally coming of age. Last month, Sony released Resistance: Retribution for the PSP (read our review here). This is one of the first games on the PSP to make extensive use of the internet, and Sony’s Playstation Network. Sony is finally starting to flex its muscles to offer more downloadable content, too… which means there are now “legitimate” reasons to have a 16GB memory stick in your PSP.

Graphics throughout are well above par, as long as you don’t get fed up with the constantly dark atmosphere – at least you don’t need a flashlight! While certain objects break up as fire rains down from enemy machine guns, sadly obstacles and structures in general can’t be damaged. This is pretty poor because it means that an enemy character can hide just as safely behind a cloth tent as he can a brick wall. The dialogue can be goofy at times and some more ambient effects wouldn’t have gone unappreciated, but overall audio is good. While some have criticised the storyline and main character, I thought both were pretty neat. Dark Sector doesn’t change the face of gaming, but it is a good game and certainly worth a closer look.
