With the release of the all new and improved Lumix DMC-G3, it seems that Panasonic finally gets the fact that micro 4/3rds camera's are not competitors for DSLR. Rather they are a parallel technology which caters to a different niche! The niche that they really cater to are consumers who want better picture quality than what a point-and-shoot can deliver but don't want to lug around a camera that weighs a veritable ton! We could have told them that long ago. While point-and-shoot cameras are not great for taking vacation photo's, they were really the only lightweight option! There really was no lightweight, small and easy to carry 4/3rds option so why mess around with it. After all, if you are willing to lug around a full size camera, why bother with anything besides the "best" and the best is still DSLR.
